Ok, so, you joined.  Now you’re wondering what to do.  ”HOW DO I GET MY DISCOUNT?” You ask.  Below, we’ll try to explain what to expect and how to use your membership.

What will happen when you join:

  • During purchase, you should have been prompted to create a username and password to this site.  If not, please email us and we’ll track down the problem and get you going.  You’ll still be able to get the discount explained below, but we want to see you on the member forum too so will get your username and password to you.
  • A receipt of you membership purchase will be emailed to you.  Please put this in a safe place.  You’ll present this for your discount until your membership certificate arrives.
  • In about 10 days (much sooner but we’re giving ourselves some leeway here), you’ll receive your membership certificate in the mail.  Be sure to look for it! DO NOT THOW IT AWAY WITH YOUR JUNK MAIL!

Using  your Discount: This part is easy.

  • Go to the contractor search area and choose the type of contractor you’re looking for.  Click the “read more” button and read their report.
  • Once you’ve chosen a contractor to hire, call them up and schedule them.  (Make sure you mention your membership when scheduling your appointment.  That way, if there’s any question about your discount, we can verify your membership and discount with them before hand.)
  • Have your Membership Certificate or Receipt ready to present when you contractor comes out so you can save 20% immediately!

Using the Member Forum:

  • Go to the Member Forum page.
  • Log in with the Username and Password you created while purchasing your membership.
  • Choose the forum topic that matches your comment or question and post.  We, along with other members, will monitor the forum and are eager to help you out and answer your questions.
  • While you’re chilling out and waiting on a good solution to your do-it-yourself home improvement project, be sure to browse the posts of others and see if you can contribute to their comments.
